The distance between two points (x_1,y_1,z_1) and (x_2,y_2,z_2) is given by

d=\sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2+(z_2-z_1)^2}

So, distance between  (–3, 7, 2) and (2, 4, –1) is given by 

d=\sqrt{(2-(-3))^2+(4-7)^2+(-1-2)^2}

d=\sqrt{25+9+9}

d=\sqrt{43}
