Given points:  (0, 0) and (36, 15)

Distance between the points will be: (x_{1},y_{1})\ and\ (x_{2},y_{2})

D = \sqrt{(x_{2}-x_{1})^2+(y_{2}-y_{1})^2}

D= \sqrt{(36-0)^2+(15-0)^2} =\sqrt{1296+225} = \sqrt{1521} = 39

The distance between the two towns A and B is, thus 39 km for given towns location

(0,0)  and  (36,15).
