Given integral \int \left ( \sqrt x - \frac{1}{\sqrt x } \right ) ^2 dx;

or \int (x+\frac{1}{x}-2)\ dx

= \int x\ dx + \int \frac{1}{x}\ dx -2\int dx

= \frac{x^2}{2} + \ln|x| -2x +C , where C is any constant value.
