For area of shaded region we need to find area of the triangle.

Area of triangle is :-

                                     =\ \frac{1}{2}\times 3.5\times 2

                                   =\ 3.5\ cm^2

Hence area of shaded region is  =  Area of quadrant   -  Area of triangle

                                                 =\ \frac{77}{8}\ -\ 3.5

                                                =\ \frac{49}{8}\ cm^2
