Hence, total possible outcomes = 52

Hence, number of favourable outcomes = 13

\therefore P(E) = \frac{favourable\ outcomes}{total\ outcomes} = \frac{13}{52}

= \frac{1}{4}

Therefore, the probability of getting a spade is  \frac{1}{4}
