 There are four men and six women on the city council

 \therefore n(S) = n(men) + n(women) = 4 + 6 = 10

Let E be the event of selecting a woman

\therefore n(E) = 6

\therefore P(E) = \frac{n(E)}{n(S)}  = \frac{6}{10} = \frac{3}{5}

Therefore, the required probability of selecting a woman is 0.6
