Uniform flow of charge through a cross-section -

J=\frac{I}{A}=\frac{neA\upsilon _{d}}{A}

J=ne\upsilon_{d}

\upsilon_{d}- Drift velocity

drift velocity is inversely propotional to area of cross-section.

Here area of crosssection decreases by 4 times hence drift velocity becomes v/4.
