Trace of a Matrix -

tr \left ( A \right ) = \sum_{i= 1}^{n}a_{ii}

if  A = \left [ a_{ij} \right ]_{n\times n}

- wherein

The sum of the elements of a square matrix A lying along the principal diagonal 

 

 Since a_{11} = 0= a_{22} = a_{33}

tr(A) = a_{11} + a_{22}+ a_{33}=0
