If \mathrm{2 y=x+24}  is a tangent to parabola \mathrm{y^2=24 x}, then its distance from parallel normal is

Rewrite the tangent as  y=\left(\frac{1}{2}\right) x+\frac{6}{1 / 2}

So it is a tangent with slope \frac{1}{2}

Now normal with same slope

y-\left(\frac{1}{2}\right) x+\frac{27}{4}=0

Distance between these two parallel lines will be  \frac{15 \sqrt{5}}{2}

Hence answer is (a).
