When interferecne is coherent,

I_{\max }=(\sqrt{I_{0}}+\sqrt{I_{0}}+\ldots \text { ntimes })^{2}=n^{2} I_{0}

When interference is incoherent,

I_{\max }^{\prime}=I_{0}+I_{0}+\ldots n \ times=n I_{0}

\therefore \frac{I_{\max }}{I_{\max }^{\prime}}=\frac{n^{2} I_{0}}{n I_{0}}=n
