It is defined as the time in which the number of nuclei reduces to \left ( \frac{1}{e} \right )part of the initial number of nuclei

 

 \frac{dN}{dt}=\frac{-0.04N}{3600}

Compare this equation with

\frac{dN}{dt}= -\lambda N

\lambda =1.1*10^{-5}s^{-1}

T=\frac{1}{\lambda }=\frac{3600}{0.04}=25h
