Get your elementary concepts like Moment of Inertia , angular momentum and rolling/toppling clear. From each concept, solve as many problems as you can till you're comfortable with the concept. Read the theory of H. C Verma. Also solve the problems given there.

Once this is properly done, move to higher problem solving. At this stage, questions will combine multiple mechanics concepts. Properly mastering these will result in a thorough revision of the entire mechanics section. Do solve many subjective problems in rotation, especially from books like Cengage, D.c Pandey and your coaching material. Do note that all you need to do in rotation is make proper free body diagrams and appropriately analyse the situation. Problems of rotation combined with collisions and translation are a favourite of examiners.
