Mass m = 1000\ kg

g = 10 \ m/s^{2}

R = 6400\ km =6400\times 10^{3}\ m

Potential energy on earth surface = -mgR

while in free space Potential Energy = 0

so Required Energy = change in Potential Energy = 0-(-mgR)=mgR = 1000 \times 10\times 6400 \times 10^{3} = 6.4\times 10^{10}\ Joules
