For \Theta < 90^{\circ}

For \Theta > 90^{\circ}

For \Theta = 90^{\circ}

- wherein

meniscus (concave) \rightarrow Rise

meniscus (convex) \rightarrow Fall

meniscus (Plane) \rightarrow Plane

 

 FOr obtuse angle , the liquid will fall and hence its a non weting liquid
