\Delta l= \frac{FL}{AY}

\Delta l= Elongation

 

 

\Delta l= \frac{FL}{AY}   \Rightarrow \frac{\Delta l_2}{\Delta l_1} = \left ( \frac{F_2}{F_1} \right )\left ( \frac{L_2}{L_1} \right )\left ( \frac{A_1}{A_2} \right )

\Rightarrow \frac{\Delta l_2}{l} = 2 \times 2\times 1/4 = 1

\Delta l_2=l
