Disorders of Pituitary Gland -

  • Pituitary Dwarfism: Caused due to hyposecretion of growth hormone. It is characterised by a small body and sexual immaturity.
  • Gigantism: Caused due to hypersecretion of growth hormone. It is characterised by a large body.
  • Acromegaly: Caused by an excess of growth hormone after adult size is reached. It is characterised by a disproportionate increase in the size of bones of face, hands and feet.
