- Bacteria are prokaryotes while protist are eukaryotes.

- Nucleus is absent in bacteria while protista posses a well- defined nucleus.

- Membrane bound organelle, such as endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi appartus etc. are absent in Bacteria but present in protist.

- So on the basis of cytoplasmic content we can differentiate between cells of protists and bacteria.
