This is the most accepted theory of stomatal movements.

 Stomata close when it is dark and dry, If carbon dioxide concentrations inside the leaf start to fall, the plant will open its stomata so that more CO2 can enter.

Thus, Light, temperature and concentration of CO2 affect opening and closing of stomata while they are not affected by O2 concentration.
