Hydrogen peroxide is a powerful oxidising agent. It acts as an oxidising agent in neutral, acidic or in alkaline medium.

\mathrm{KOH} will be formed when \mathrm{Kl} is treated with \mathrm{H}_2 \mathrm{O}_2 in neutral medium.

2 \mathrm{KI}+\mathrm{H}_2 \mathrm{O}_2 \rightarrow 2 \mathrm{KOH}+\mathrm{I}_2 (Here iodide ion is oxidized to Iodine)
