- Deccumbent - Stem trails for some distance & then tend to rise at its apex. Eg - Tridax, Portulaca
- Diffuse - When the branches of the stem are spread out in all directions on the ground. Eg - Euphorbia, Boerhaavia
- Liana (Stem Climber) - They twin themselves around tall trees to secure sunlight. Eg - Hiptage, Bauhinia
Climbers - Plants have organs to climb the object
- Rootlet Climber - Betel
- Hook Climber - Bougainvillea
- Tendril Climber - Wild Pea
