Water soluble hormones usually need  receptor that generate  messengers for regulationg celluar metabolism. D   soluble hormones can pass through cell membrane and blind to E   receptors, mostly nuclear receptors. The hormone receptor complex enter the nucleus and mostly regulate gene expression or chromosome function by interaction of hormone-receptor complex with the genome.
