Extraembryonic Layers -

  • These membranes are formed outside the embryo from the trophoblast and embryonic layers only in amniotes (reptiles, birds and mammals) and perform specific functions.
  • There are four extraembryonic membranes:
    • Amnion
    • Yolk sac
    • Allantois
    • Chorio
