Reaction of Na2 O2 with moist air -

Becomes white due to the formation of NaOH and Na_{2}CO_{3}

- wherein

2Na{_2}O{_2}+2H{_2}O\rightarrow 4NaOH+O{_2}\\ 2NaOH+CO{_2}\rightarrow Na{_2}CO{_3}+H{_2}O

 

  Na2O2  reacts with moist air and forms NaOH & Na2CO3 due to which it becomes white .
