Distillation Method -
This is very useful for low boiling metals like zinc and mercury. The impure metal is evaporated to obtain the pure metal as distillate.
Some metals have a very low melting point and soon vaporize on heating, while the associated impurities remain in solid state. Zn, Cd, and Hg forms vapors easily hence can be refined by the distillation process.
