The amount of phosphorus present in any organic compound is determined by the Carius method.

Principle: The phosphorus present in an organic compound is oxidized to phosphoric acid by heating with fuming nitric acid. The phosphoric acid so obtained is precipitated as \mathrm{MgNH_{4}PO_{4}} which on ignition is converted into \mathrm{Mg_{2}P_{2}O_{7}}. From the mass of \mathrm{Mg_{2}P_{2}O_{7}}, the mass of phosphorus present in the sample of the organic compound can be calculated.

Hence, the correct answer is Option (4)
