Plant body of Gymnosperms -

Differentiated into root, stem and leaves.

Root: Coralloid roots of cycas is associated with N2 fixing blue green algae.Pinus is associated with endophytic fungi called mycorrhizae.

Stem: Mostly erect, aerial, solid and cylindrical. Cycas root is unbranched. Pinus, Cedrus and conifers root is branched.

 

 Roots in Cycas are of two types - normal and coralloid roots . Coralloid roots do not possess root hair and root cap
