Syn gas is mixture of Carbon monoxide and dihydrogen, When steam is passed through syn gas 500{ }^{\circ} \mathrm{C} in the presence of catalyst \mathrm{Fe}_2 \mathrm{O}_3 \cdot \mathrm{Cr}_2 \mathrm{O}_3, it forms more hydrogen. It is called water gas shift reaction and used for industrial manufacturing of Hydrogen.

\mathrm{CO}+\mathrm{H}_2+\mathrm{H}_2 \mathrm{O} \rightarrow \mathrm{CO}_2+2 \mathrm{H}_2
