a)
i) Symptoms- fever, chills, cough, severe problems in respiration and headache. In severe cases, the lips, finger and nails may turn gray to bluish in colour.
ii) Causative agent- Salmonella typhi
iii) Disease- Common cold
iv) Symptoms- internal bleeding, muscular pain, fever, anemia and blockage of the intestinal passage.
b) Mechanical carriers of the disease are pathogens that carry a disease from one host to another. Typhoid is the disease that is carried by the mechanical carrier which is the bacteria Salmonella typhi.
