a) Opioids are extracted from the latex of poppy plant Papaver somniferum. Common name- Heroin or smack Chemical name- Diacetylmorphine


b) Opioids are the drugs, which bind to specific opioid receptors present in our central nervous system and gastrointestinal tract. Opioids tend to slow down the bodily functions and acts as a depressant. ( Heroin)
