Chromosomal theroy of Inheritance by Sutton and Bovery Experimental results on pea plant by Mendel
(i) Sutton and Bovery suggested that chromosomes are present in pairs and they bear the hereidatry

(i) Mendel deduced that genes (factors) are present in pairs and are inherited as distinct units.

(ii) Homologous chromosomes synapse during meiosis and are passed into different cells. (ii) Mendilianfactors i.e., genes also segregate during gamete formation and only one factor passes to one gamete.
(iii) The genes are carried onto the chromosomes and pairing and separation of pair of chromosomes would lead to segregation of factors they carry. (iii) Genes are disrete units that control the expression of traits and of the pair of alleles which do not blind with each other.
