Ex-situ : THreatened animals and plants were taken out from their natural habitat and placed in special settings where they can be protected and given special care, by keeping the gametes of threatened species preserved in viable and fertile condition for long time.

Ex - Zoological parks/ botanical gardens.

In situ conservation, organisms are given protection in their natural habitat in which biodiversity is protected at all levels.
