Alfred Russel Wallace played an important role in explaining the theory of natural selection. He also wrote the book 'Darwinism'.In that book, he proposed the hypothesis that natural selection could drive the reproductive isolation of two varieties by encouraging the development of barriers against hybridization. He spent eight years studying and collecting biological specimens in Southeast Asia where he collected more than 100,000 different species of insects, birds and animals, which later he gave to the  British museum as specimens. Later, by 1855, he had came up with the conclusion that living things evolve
