Human beings maintain a constant temperature of 37 degrees Celsius. This is known as homeostasis. In summer, when the outside temperature is more than the body temperature, they sweat profusely.

The resulting evaporative cooling brings down the body temperature. In winter when the temperature is much lower than 37 degrees Celsius, they start to shiver- a kind of exercise that produces heat and raises the body temperature.
