In the story "The Lady or The Tiger " by Frank Stockton, the Princess fell in love with a man who was not from Royal birth. His father was angry at her for this, so he gave her daughter a choice to choose from two doors. Behind one door was a Tiger and behind another door was a fair maiden whom the man will marry with instantly. The princess got jealous of the girl and knowingly choose the door of tiger. In the end she was just as ruthless as her father.

If I were the Princess, I would choose the door with the fair maiden because to love or not to love was the choice of the man. Even with the door with the fair maiden, the man has a choice to choose the princess(me)  or the fair lady. I don't have a right to take somebody's life using false means that is a crime. So, in any case I will have to choose the door with the lady, that way the Prince has a chance of surviving and marrying the princess(me).
