The law of refraction of light are : The incident ray, the refracted ray and normal to the interface of two media at point of incidence all lie in same plane.When light is going from vaccum to another medium the value of refractive index is called absolute refractive index. The ratio of speed of light in vaccum to speed of light in a medium.

 Refractive\; index=\frac{Speed\; of\; light\; in\; Vaccum}{Speed \; of\; light\; in\; medium}
