They are expected to stay indoors for the first two days of the trip so as to get gradually acclimatized to the change in altitude and temperature and to stop experiencing altitude sickness.

The body compensates low oxygen availability by increasing red blood cell production, decreasing the binding capacity of hemoglobin and by increasing breathing rate.
