The image of an object formed by a lens is of magnification -1. If the distance between the object and its image is 60 cm, what is the focal length of the lens? 1) The magnification of -1 is possible in only convex lens 

magnification = -v/4 = -1 

v= u 

v = 40cm 

As the position of the object and image is same hence, the object is placed at the center of curvature 

2) If the object is moved 20cm towards the mirrior tthe object will be palced at focus hence the image will be formed at infinity
