The length of a minute indicator of a hand watch is 2mm. Find a) Distance travelled by tip of indicator b) Displacement of the tip of indicator between 4p.m and 4.30p.m

Answers (1)

The radius of the path=length of the minute hand=2mm

Between 4 pm and 4:30 pm, the minute hand completes half of the circle.

So the distance travelled

d=2\pi r/2=\pi\times2mm=6.28mm

Displacement=the diameter=4mm
