Tripartite struggle to control Kanauj was between Pratihara Empire, Pala Empire and Rashtrakuta Empire in 9th century. Pratiharas won the struggle and established themselves as a ruler.

The ruling dynasty,pala's,pratiharas and Rashtrakutas were engaged in struggle to control the kanauj . The reason was that it was fertile and was rich in minerals .
