(a) Being a biology student, I don’t agree with the visitors' delight. Excessive algal growth known as algal bloom would impart a distinct to color to the water body. Algal bloom causes deterioration of water quality and fish mortality. These bloom-forming algae are extremely toxic to human beings and animals.

(b) The presence of large amounts of nutrients in water causes excessive growth of planktonic (free-floating) algae, called as an algal bloom. Such nutrients are released in water due to the use of fertilizers in the areas near the water body and effluents released from factories and homes.
