Acquired traits or experiences can not be inherited because we learn these traits due to changes in life and observing other people, and we acquire traits according to need in our life. So we can say only the changes in the genetic material of reproductive cells can be inherited.

Eg (1) One can develop one's muscles by exercise. It can not be inherited because these changes occur in somatic cells.

Eg (2) If a person is a doctor, then his child couldn't be a doctor without learning and practice, because it is an acquired trait.
