Example of a women in India  who came to highlight but whose husband do not is Rani Laxmi Bai and  Indira Gandhi.

Rani Laxmi Bai fought against Britishers and their subordination. She was against the policy of Britishers where adopted son will not be considered as the king. Only biological son will be preferred. She adopted a son when women were not allowed to rule and made him the king. Britishers refused this and tried to take Jhansi kingdom.

Indira Gandhi, our former Prime Minister was very powerful personality who ruled over free, independent India. Her sharp skills and political knowledge stood her apart. She was very popular as compared to her husband.
