Sample space when a die is thrown, S = {1,2,3,4,5,6}

\therefore Number of possible outcomes n(S) = 6

Let E be the event of getting a prime number = {2,3,5}

\therefore n(E) = 3

\therefore P(E) = \frac{n(E)}{n(S)}  = \frac{3}{6}

= 0.5
