If the lines 3x – 4y + 4 = 0 and 6x – 8y – 7 = 0 are tangents to a circle, then find the radius of the circle.

Answers (1)

Given lines are 6x-8y+8=0  and 6x-8y-7=0

These parallel lines are tangent to a circle

Diameter of circle = Distance between the lines

Diameter of circle=\left |\frac{8-\left ( -7 \right )}{\sqrt{36+64}} \right |=\frac{15}{10}=\frac{3}{2}

Radius of circle=\frac{3}{4}
