Now we are going to analyze every single Unit:-

Unit-1 The Solid State- This is the 1st unit of NCERT solutions for class 12 chemistry. In this chapter, we deal with solid state, crystalline solids, amorphous solids and structural imperfections in the solids. There are a total of 11 sub-topics in this chapter and also to test the student’s knowledge, there are 26 questions given in the exercise at the end of the chapter.

Unit-2 Solutions- This chapter talks about solutions, a different type of solution, the concentration of solutions, Raoult's law, the vapour pressure of liquid solutions, colligative properties and abnormal molar masses. This chapter carries 5 marks in the CBSE Board exam. In this chapter, there are a total of 7 sub-topics and 41 questions at the end of the exercise.

Unit-3 Electrochemistry-  In this chapter, there are a total of 8 sub-topics and 30 questions at the end of the exercise. In class 12 chemistry chapter 3 Electrochemistry, students learn about electrochemical cells, galvanic cells and electrolytic cell, the difference between galvanic and electrolytic cell, Nernst equation, the standard potential of the cell, Gibbs energy of cell and many more.

Unit-4 Chemical Kinetics- Chemical kinetics helps students to understand how chemical reactions occur.  Chapter-4 Chemical kinetics deals with the rate of reaction( both average and instantaneous). This chapter also covers topics like factors affecting the rate of reaction, the integrated rate equations, the temperature dependence on the rate of reaction, etc.

Unit-5 Surface Chemistry- Surface chemistry deals with the phenomena that occur at the interfaces or surfaces. This chapter carries 4 marks in the CBSE Board exams. NCERT class 12 chemistry chapter 5 Surface chemistry covers a total of six concepts like adsorption, catalysis colloids etc. and it contains 27 questions in the exercise to check students knowledge.

Unit-6 General Principles and Processes of Isolation of Elements- Aluminum is the most abundant metal found in the Earth's crust.  Approx. 8.3% by weight. Cleaning of ore by the removal of particles like clay, sand, etc. from the ore is called dressing of ore or concentration of ore. This is done in the following steps: Hydraulic washing, Magnetic separation, froth floatation method, Leaching. This was brief on Principles Isolation of Elements.

Unit-7 The p-Block Elements- For the Class-12 students Chapter 7 The p-Block elements is the most important chapter of chemistry because this chapter is quite lengthy and also carries 8 marks in the CBSE Board exam. NCERT chapter 7 is about the p-block elements of Groups 15 to 18. In this chapter, there are a total of 23 sub-topics and 40 questions in the exercise.

Unit-8 The d-and f-Block Elements- This chapter talks about the d-block and f-block elements, general and physical properties of the transition elements, the formation of complex and coloured compounds, variation in ionic and atomic sizes of transition metals and many more. This chapter is not a lengthy like chapter 7. In Chapter 8 The d- and f-block elements, there are 7 sub-topics which covers important concepts.

Unit-9 Coordination Compounds- The coordination compounds chemistry is an important area of modern inorganic chemistry. In other words, we can say that coordination compounds are the backbone of inorganic chemistry and the chemical industry. The eight sub-topics of this chapter covers important concepts like Werner’s Theory of coordination compounds, definitions of some important terms pertaining to coordination compounds, the nomenclature of coordination compounds etc.

Unit-10 Haloalkanes and Haloarenes- NCERT chapter 10 of chemistry deals with haloalkanes and haloarenes and carries 4 marks in the CBSE board exams. In this chapter we will learn IUPAC nomenclature of haloalkanes and haloarenes compounds, important methods of preparation for haloalkanes and haloarenes, chemical and physical properties of organohalogen compounds and its uses.

Unit-11 Alcohols, Phenols, and Ethers- This chapter starts with the IUPAC nomenclature of alcohols, phenols, and ethers. In this chapter, we will study the chemistry of three classes of compounds which are alcohols, phenols and ethers and also discuss the reaction for the preparation of alcohols, phenols and ethers. In this chapter, there are a total of 6 sub-topics and 33 questions in the exercise.

Unit-12 Aldehydes, Ketones and Carboxylic Acids- It is an important chapter for the class-12 students because this chapter holds about ‘6’ precious marks in the CBSE Board exam. In this chapter, we will study the organic compounds containing carbon-oxygen double bond (>C=O) called carbonyl group. Carbonyl group (>C=O) is one of the most important functional groups in organic chemistry.

Unit-13 Amines- The 13th chapter of NCERT Class 12 Chemistry deals with organic compounds Amines. In this chapter, there are 10 sub-topics which covers structure, nomenclature and classification of amines and also covers its chemical and physical properties and method of preparation of diazonium salts.
