Total outcomes =\left \{ 1,2,3,4,5,6 \right \}=6.

A is the event, ‘the number is even,’

Outcomes of A  =\left \{ 2,4,6 \right \}

                  n(A)=3.

                 P(A)=\frac{3}{6}=\frac{1}{2}

B is the event, ‘the number is red’.

Outcomes of B  =\left \{ 1,2,3 \right \}

                  n(B)=3.

                 P(B)=\frac{3}{6}=\frac{1}{2}

           \therefore (A\cap B)=\left \{ 2 \right \}

             n(A\cap B)=1

         P(A\cap B)=\frac{1}{6}

Also,

             P(A\cap B)=P(A).P(B)

           P(A\cap B)=\frac{1}{2}\times \frac{1}{2}=\frac{1}{4}\neq \frac{1}{6}

Thus, both the events A and B are not independent.
