Assertion (A):\beta-glycosidic linkage is present in maltose.

 
Reason (R): Maltose is composed of two glucose units in which C-1 of one glucose unit is linked to C-4 of another glucose unit.

                            Maltose 

Maltose is found in germinating cereal seeds and is produced during the brewing of beer and other malt-containing beverages. It's also used in many products, including confectionery, food manufacturing, bread, wine, and preserves.

Maltose is used as a substitute for high-fructose corn syrup because it contains no fructose. When consumed in moderation, your body uses maltose for energy and it's not harmful. However, consuming too much maltose can lead to obesity, diabetes, and heart and kidney disease, just like other sugars.
