L.H.S. (2x-1)(x-3) can be written as:

= 2x^2-6x-x+3 = 2x^2-7x+3

and R.H.S (x+5)(x-1) can be written as:

=x^2-x+5x-5 = x^2+4x-5

\Rightarrow 2x^2-7x+3 = x^2+4x-5

i.e., x^2-11x+8 = 0

This equation is of type: ax^2+bx+c = 0,a \neq 0.

Hence, the given equation is a quadratic equation.
