                (vi)    x^2 +3x +1 = (x-2)^2

best_answer

L.H.S. x^2+3x+1

and R.H.S (x-2)^2 can be written as:

= x^2-4x+4

\Rightarrow x^2+3x+1 = x^2- 4x+4

i.e., 7x-3 = 0

This equation is NOT of type: ax^2+bx+c = 0 , a\neq0.

Here a=0, hence, the given equation is not a quadratic equation.
