We know that

Area of parallelogram  = base \times height

Here, 

Base of parallelogram = 5cm

and

Height of parallelogram = 3 cm

\Rightarrow 3 \times 5 = 15 \ cm^2

Therefore, the area of the parallelogram is  15 \ cm^2
